Top 7- My most anticipated movies of 2015

Before you say anything, it's still December. I'm allowed Christmas songs okay, just give me this. Now, this is almost the end of my Christmas songs and this is more about winter than Christmas anyway. Let's listen to "Let it Snow"

It's that post Christmas, pre New Years time when you're in a permanent bloated state and all you can do is waddle around, watch TV and then go back to bed some more. So why not think on this list of films that you can expect to see by this time next year? You'll enjoy it. And then, you can descend back into your food coma before New Years arrives and you bring yourself back into the cycle of alcohol, food and sleep deprivation. Because seriously, this is going to be an awesome year for films.

7. Kingsman: The Secret Service
If you're anything like me, you love the film Kick-Ass. It was rude, violent and just incredibly awesome. And after Kick-Ass 2 was unanimously slammed, I've been looking for something to fill that hole in my heart. This is that film. It's based on a comic book by the man who wrote Kick-Ass and is being directed by the guy who directed Kick-Ass. What with this, the all star cast and the serious awesomeness being shown in the trailers, this looks to do for the spy genre what Kick-Ass did for the superhero genre back in 2009; to lampoon it, take it for all it's worth but then be one of the best films of it's genre.

6. Avengers: Age of Ultron
I don't know if you've noticed but Marvel has kind of been on a roll recently. As in, their last two films were some of the best films of 2014 (Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy for those not keeping up) and it doesn't look like they're slowing down any time soon. With everything we've seen and heard about this film, it could well be better than the last Avengers and not just be the Iron Man show again. While it could still suck, it seems unlikely. This will be awesome action if nothing else.

5. Mad Max: Fury Road
Little is known about this film. We know it has Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in it. We can see it looks hugely original and unpredictable. But we don't know much else. And tkat's what's so exciting about this film. All the buzz around it is unanimously positive and incredibly excited. We know so little about this enigma and that's why we'll all have to watch it.

4. Star Wars VII
So, there is reason to be worried here.  On the one hand, you have the excellent original series and the knowledge that it's in the hands of a longtime fan directing a lot of excellent actors while also bringing back practical effects. And on the other hand, you have the prequels. Ergh. Look, let's just admit something. No matter the quality of this film, what the reviews say or what the general consensus is, everyone will watch this film. Even those who haven't seen the other films (and shame on you if you haven't) will almost certainly go see this. Because it's god damn Star Wars.

3. Paper Towns
After The Fault in our Stars taught me that I was in fact a teenage girl, I was hooked on John Green. I went out and bought all of his books and read them in quick succession. Of them, Paper Towns came out very highly on top. It's up there as not just my favourite John Green book but one of my favourite books I've ever read! Hence it ranking so highly on this list. The only thing that's stopping this going higher is the worry of Cara Delevigne as Margo. Other than that, the rest of the cast looks great, John Green (The Author) has been there to make sure it's all going well and they did such a good job with TFIOS that it would seem strange if they messed this up.

2.The Hateful Eight
Look, it's a Tarantino film. This film will be interesting at worst. But after the excellent Django Unchained, this looks promising. Plus, like Django, it's a western. Anyone who saw Django can vouch for those incredible fight scenes, the badass characters and the atmosphere that took the western genre and updated it perfectly. I did a post talking about the cast and I still feel very confident about it. There is no reason to not be excited for this film. Well, as long you enjoy healthy doses of violence and swearing.

1. Birdman
One of the best things about this film is that it will be out by the end of the week. Hell, I may even have been to see it by the time you read this. I've been waiting for this film for quite a while now and it's been gathering quite the incredible critical buzz. Michael Keaton has apparently knocked it out of the park and the cinematography has been totally praised for the way it makes the film look like one huge long shot. It's tipped as a huge contender in this year's Oscars and, while it could prove too artsy for some, I will be seeing this movie. That is why it tops my list.

Now, I'm aware it's not a film but it's a sequel to a book known as a film, so I had to mention Fight Club 2 here. It's going to be a graphic novel set after the first book. I'm a little nervous about it but being a huge Fight Club fan boy, I'll read it.

That was the movies that are coming out next year that you should probably see. Come back again, same time on Wednesday for a list of TV shows you should watch next year.
